Million Air White Plains Grand Opening
WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK FEBRUARY 2019 – Million Air White Plains (HPN) is proud to celebrate the Grand Opening of its new Fixed-Based Operator (FBO) facility at Westchester County Airport, to be held this Thursday, February 28. The 400-plus guests will enjoy a private concert from Chris Isaak, and an AboutGOLF simulator with appearances from professional golfers. Guests will also be invited onto the ramp to tour several business jets, including a Cessna Citation Longitude, Cessna Citation M2 and Embraer Legacy 500 aircraft, luxury cars from Miller Motors, and a Bell 429 helicopter. Breitling watches and Shreve, Crump & Low jewels will also be on display.
The new FBO facility at Million Air White Plains will combine award-winning service with the luxury ambiance of Million Air, to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to the Westchester County Airport. Whether arriving or departing the area, Million Air White Plains will set the standard for the private aviation experience and define the first and last impressions of the outstanding Westchester community.
In the new FBO facility, Million Air’s guests will drive into a 6,865 sq. ft. indoor valet space, created to provide a climate-controlled transition into the facility. Upon entering, the grand coffee bar and great rooms will serve as the central gathering area for passengers awaiting their flights, where they will be greeted by baristas and served a beverage of their choice. The new luxury space was purposefully designed to deliver a luxury resort-like ambiance, including elegant seating groups, wood and locally-mined rock features, and 6 stone-framed fireplaces outlined by wood beam ceilings, reflective of the Westchester community.
The $70+ million privately-financed project at Million Air White Plains has been years in the making. The new 22,000 sq. ft. terminal, new 50,400 sq. ft. hangar, and upgraded ramp facility were all designed to meet the growing customer demand for enhanced services, expanded space and unique design. The hangar incorporates a partial curtain wall facade to showcase the aircraft within, with heights capable of housing a Gulfstream 650. The hangar’s floors are heated with a hi-tech radiant heat system, which maintains comfortable temperatures for aircraft and pilots alike, and also reduces de-icing operations.
“Corporations are bringing their private aircraft to Westchester County Airport and they are driving the community, uplifting the local economy and creating jobs,” said Roger Woolsey, President/CEO for Million Air. “Our job is to be the first and last impression for the Westchester community and greet these market makers. Million Air looked at the expansion project as an opportunity to once again raise the bar on luxury. Fueled by our dedication to our pilots, passengers and the local community, we have taken every consideration into account to make sure all amenities reflect Westchester in a beautiful light.”
