Located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, off I-10, just 45 miles east of New Orleans, Bay St. Louis was named by Budget Travel as one of the “coolest small towns in America” and by Coastal Living Magazine as one of “the Top 10 Beach Communities.” The Bay is just one of four communities in Hancock County that makes this place a special place to visit and live. When you visit, you will want to take in the 13 miles of waterfront along the Beach Boulevard Scenic Byway and enjoy 30 miles of untouched roadways in and around the buffer zone surrounding NASA Stennis Space Center, a national asset for defense and eco-tourism.
Other cities surrounding the airport include Diamondhead, a planned living community offering golf, tennis, and even more recreational amenities. Waveland is home to Buccaneer State Park, The Waveland Ground Zero Hurricane Museum, and pristine beaches. Kiln is known as home to NFL legend Brett Favre, and there is so much more to discover like Mississippi’s first brewery– Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, McLeod Park, Crittenden Distillery, and the Jourdan River Blueways.
Travelers to the Mississippi Gulf Coast have come to enjoy not only our world-class golf courses, but also our unique shopping, art galleries, and our state-of-the-art attractions like the INFINITY Science Center—which includes a guided behind-the-scenes tour of nearby Stennis Space Center. In the Bay, you will also find quaint bed and breakfast establishments and two casino resorts—Silver Slipper Casino and Hollywood Casino. The area also offers plenty of sporting activities, including a new downtown harbor and some of the best charter boat fishing found anywhere on the Coast. Fresh gulf seafood is always on the menu at most of our home-grown restaurants, including the Million Air Stennis Jet-a-Way Café. The Café is found inside the terminal where our friendly staff will make you feel right at home with a taste of our southern hospitality.
