Job Title: Aviation Sales Representative / Service Writer

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Aviation Sales Representative / Service Writer to serve as the key point of contact between our maintenance department and our customers. This individual will be responsible for accurately assessing maintenance needs, preparing estimates using industry-standard flat rate times, and ensuring excellent customer communication throughout the aircraft service process. The ideal candidate will have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate, a strong understanding of general and corporate aviation maintenance practices, and a customer-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Liaison:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding scheduled maintenance, discrepancies, and service updates.
- Communicate technical maintenance items in layman's terms to customers.
- Ensure all customer expectations and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Maintenance Coordination & Sales:
- Provide detailed service quotes and maintenance proposals using OEM flat rates, internal pricing guides, and parts databases.
- Upsell additional services, upgrades, or enhancements when appropriate and value-adding.
- Track work scope changes and promptly issue revised estimates or approvals for overages.
- Work Order Management:
- Open, monitor, and close work orders in coordination with maintenance staff.
- Review maintenance records, logbooks, and AD compliance as needed for quote generation.
- Ensure completed work orders are accurate, detailed, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Scheduling & Planning:
- Assist in scheduling aircraft for maintenance events in coordination with the maintenance department.
- Work with planning and parts departments to ensure timely availability of parts and labor.
- Quality Assurance & Follow-up:
- Conduct post-maintenance debriefs with customers.
- Follow up on customer satisfaction and gather feedback to improve service processes.
- Maintain long-term relationships with operators and aircraft owners to drive repeat business.
Required Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate - Required
- 3+ years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience; preferably in general or corporate aviation
- Experience with service writing, quoting maintenance labor using flat rates (OEM or third-party systems)
- Working knowledge of common inspections: Phase, 100-hour, Annual, and progressive inspections
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to interpret maintenance manuals and ADs
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Familiarity with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., CAMP, Corridor, Traxxall) and shop management software
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and quoting tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a service writer, CSR, or sales support role within an MRO or repair station
- Knowledge of FAA regulations (Part 91,135, and 145 operations)
- Experience with quoting systems such as Avantext, Flightdocs, or Quantum
- Understanding of avionics, interiors, and upgrade options to support sales cross-functionality

- Combination of office and hangar environment
- May involve occasional aircraft walk-arounds or inspections in hangar settings
- Must be able to work occasional extended hours or weekends depending on project timelines
