Objectives

This position will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation of programs designed to improve total productive maintenance within Million Air Houston. The individual will perform all duties to support the plant's safety, environment, quality, and reliability standards. The individual will also be the facility resource of innovative technology, standards and practices in the maintenance and reliability field and profession. Coordination and communication with the general manager of facility operations, maintenance, engineering, etc. are critical to the success of the facility's reliability, track's engineering expense & budgeting to meet forecast for assigned projects. Assist other various departments to guarantee proper design, installation, modification & maintainability of new & existing equipment, buildings & facilities. Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Responsible for ensuring all projects are completed in a safe and timely manner as not to affect the customer or team member experience.
  2. Review engineering documentation, vendor submittals, fabrication drawings and other submittals for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, good engineering practice, and project objectives.
  1. Manage and lead the root cause analysis for all major equipment failures and as directed by plant leadership.
  2. Oversee the Planning and Scheduling of plant maintenance activities in a weekly plant scheduling meeting and manage the plant's turnaround work.
  3. Oversee and coordinate the broad array of facility-related maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical. painting, masonry, and strategic planning and execution of new constructions, architectural and design activities.
  1. Conduct inspections of hanger and grounds identifying maintenance and safety problems implementing corrective action as needed.
  2. Schedule work order, place vendor bids for materials, select vendors and prepare requisitions.
  3. Coordinate Lean initiatives in the maintenance area for the plant.
  1. Coordinate the training and development of maintenance planners.
  2. Support safety culture and awareness in accordance with existing safety policies that result in zero chemical exposure, zero accidents.
  1. Maintain OSHA Safety Standards and other policies and procedure of Million Air.
  2. Act as a liaison with state and local officials having regulatory oversight and inspection responsibilities.
  3. Provide maintenance and upkeep of the building interior and exterior. Ensure the entire facility is kept in "new" condition. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules.

Competencies

  1. Ability to communicate effectively & present information, both verbally & written at all levels of organization.
  1. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, state of the art safety practices and governmental regulations/practices.
  2. Must have knowledge of industry standards such as NFPA, OSHA, ASME, API, etc. & be able to problem solve.
  3. Solid understanding of rotating equipment, pumps, and agitators, pump curves & piping systems, machine design & process design including blueprint reading, process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams.
  4. Ability to understand electrical or mechanical diagrams.
  5. Broad knowledge of fundamentals and good knowledge of principles and practices in project management and drafting.
  6. Advanced time management and analytical skills.
  7. Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology including Microsoft tools, interpret & create technical CAD drawings & schematics.
  8. High mechanical aptitude.

Reporting Relationship This position reports to the General Manager Work Environment This position works outside in all types of weather conditions with possible contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:

  1. Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree 10 or more years if experience in engineering/maintenance management in an industrial environment.
  1. 5 or more years' experience in engineering/maintenance management in an industrial environment.
  2. 3 or more years of experience with equipment design, project engineering, plant management preferred.
  3. 3+ years of experience in maintenance preferred.
  4. Experience leading and influencing others in a maintenance, engineering, and contract labor environment, preferred.
  5. Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques and their application.
  6. Experience in implementing reliability centered maintenance principles.
  7. Knowledge of the design and maintenance of rotating, reciprocating and fixed equipment.
  8. Project management, specifically capital projects preferred.
  9. Exposure to cross functional areas such as: Planning, scheduling, tracking, evaluation, and reporting.
