Senior Staff Accountant

Objective

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting of our monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.


Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Prepare monthly trial balance reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  2. Post journal entries.
  3. Assist with the monthly close process.
  4. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  5. Act as liaison with external audits
  6. Prepare reports for a multi-company environment on regular, special, and as needed basis.
  7. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Competencies

  1. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products
  2. Minimum 5 years of business experience with emphasis on day to day accounting functions
  3. Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  5. Ability to exercise independent direction and judgement, and work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  6. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking skills
  7. Experience in a multi-company environment preferred.

  9. Accounting activities including financial reporting and year end audit preparation.

This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer


Work Environment

This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's in accounting
  • 5 years of business accounting experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  2. Experience with a large automated accounting system a plus.
  3. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
  4. Ability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends
  5. Ability to pass a background check
